昭和初期、日本における人形の鑑賞は一つの流行となり、製作も盛んに行われていました。往時のさまは谷崎潤一郎「細雪」にも描写されており、女性の間での人形受容を窺い知ることができます。

このページでは、有坂與太郎執筆の「人形と日本婦人」を掲載、加えて「新日本人形集」の目次を掲載することにより、幾多の職人が腕を競い合い、衆目を集めていた人形文化華やかなりしころの面影を紹介いたします。

In the early years of Showa period, appreciation of dolls became popular in Japan and a variety of dolls were made during this time. You can see the detailed description of the days in “Sasameyuki” written by Junichiro Tanizaki and learn how Japanese dolls were perceived by women. On this page, we present “Dolls and Japanese Women” by Yotaro Arisaka as well as the table of contents of “New Japanese Dolls Collection” in order to introduce the time when craftsmen competed each other to create dolls that attracted people’s attention.
